When talking about having twins with Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan remarks, “It still hasn’t sunk in.”

In a recent interview, Vignesh Shivan discussed the delight of becoming a father and shared his emotions. He had surrogate twin sons earlier this year with his wife Nayanthara.

On October 9, surrogate parents Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara welcomed their twin children. Vignesh has been highly active on social media ever since he decided to embrace fatherhood and has shared numerous postings there in which he expresses his happiness at becoming a father. He described it as a “surreal” emotion for him in a recent interview.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan wed in a private ceremony in Chennai on June 9. Their families and a select group of close friends from the film community attended the wedding. Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth were among the guests that attended their wedding.

Vignesh Shivan says 'it still hasn't sunk in' on welcoming twins with Nayanthara - Hindustan Times

Vignesh Shivan announced their surrogate birth of twin boys on Instagram four months after their wedding. When describing how much his life has changed after becoming a parent to India Today, he said, “It still hasn’t totally sank in for me that I am now a dad. Being with them and spending as much time with them as I can right now is the most fun and happy I’ve ever had.

The pair was photographed at Tirupati the day after their wedding, where they had travelled to perform a special puja. Nayanthara was seen wearing shoes while walking inside the temple grounds, which resulted in the pair receiving a legal warning for breaking the temple’s laws. Following the delivery of the couple’s legal notification, Vignesh apologised. In addition, Vignesh and Nayanthara stirred some controversy when they revealed they were adopting a child through surrogacy. Due to India’s recent ban on commercial surrogacy, the process’ legality was called into question.

Nayanthara last appeared in a Tamil film under the direction of Vignesh Shivan, Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal. Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu both starred in the romantic comedy. Nayanthara played Kanmani Ganguly in the movie, who develops feelings for Vijay Sethupathi’s character while Samantha’s character is also in love with him.

Nayanthara’s upcoming film, Connect, is directed by Ashwin Saravanan. Following the supernatural thriller Maya, this is the director’s second collaboration with Nayanthara. The director is Vignesh Shivan. The release date for Connect is set for December 22.
