Not Only One Star In Any Film: Vijay Sethupathi Says He Isn't Insecure Starring Alongside Shahid Kapoor In Farzi

When Shahid is a parallel lead in a series, Vijay Sethupathi was asked if this made him feel uneasy. According to Indian Express, the actor remarked, “I don’t look at it that way. I’ve contributed to so many movies. Every movie has multiple stars. In every movie, there is more than one star. I have a lot of respect for Amol Palekar here as well, followed by Bhuvan (Arora). Shahid isn’t the only one. Nobody comes to this place to compete with anyone else.We collaborate and work as a team. There can be no victor. I like the game; I don’t think winning is important. Sharing and learning are prevalent. I don’t feel insecure. In my third movie, I played a terrible part. I was questioned by the director whether I was sure, but I went ahead and did it. I only want to collaborate with incredibly brilliant performers who I can learn from. You can’t come here and learn everything. The game of catch and toss is life. The only way to learn is in that way.

He also made a joke about how when he talks about his Bollywood co-stars, people tend to take him seriously. He recalled the humorous incident: “When I get a Hindi assignment, I have to tell (them) that I’m working with Shahid or that I’m the villain for Shah Rukh Khan, only if I work with Katrina Kaif will I be taken seriously.”

The Hindi film Farzi is Vijay Sethupathi’s first. He is additionally producing Hindi films like Merry Christmas and Jawan.
