Trisha talks about working with Aishwarya Rai in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan.

Ponniyin Selvan, legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s passion movie, is set for a big release on September 30, Friday. The historical drama, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s acclaimed novel of the same name, has great expectations. Ponniyin Selvan, which will be released in two parts, stars some of Indian cinema’s most well-known actors. In the film, Trisha Krishnan plays the beloved role Ilaya Piratti Kundavai Devi, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays the renowned figure Nandini.

Trisha and Aishwarya Rai are portraying arch-rivals in the magnum epic, as you may know. Everyone enjoyed Nandini and Kundavai’s fight scene in the Ponniyin Selvan teaser. The principal females of the much-anticipated film, however, have a totally different connection in real life. In a recent interview with NDTV, Trisha discussed working alongside Aishwarya Rai in the film and said that director Mani Ratnam didn’t want them to get along. Unlike their on-screen counterparts, the actresses got along great.

“I was lucky to meet and engage with her on Day 1 of my shoot, and she is stunning from the inside out.” And it was difficult since in this picture, we are not meant to like each other too much. On set, though, we got along famously. Mani Ratnam sir would occasionally walk in and remark, “You people are chatting too much.” “Stop chatting, I can’t have this camaraderie for my role,” Trisha confessed, recalling her days on set with Aishwarya Rai.

“She is a joy to deal with, and I’m sure everyone who has worked with her would agree.” She is a wonderful person and one of the most dedicated actresses I’ve ever worked with. She spoke Sen-Thamizh the way it should be pronounced. At 2 a.m., she was getting ready with us. “I’m honoured to have shared screen time with her,” the Ponniyin Selvan actress ended.
