CEAT Ltd. has opened its first greenfield plant in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Shri. Edappadi K. Palaniswami along with Shri M.C. Sampath, Minister ofIndustries, Tamil Nadu inaugurated the plant.
The plant has a total plant area of 163 acres with a manufacturing capacity of 28,500passenger car radial tyres per day. The company has invested about INR 1,400 Cr. into thedevelopment of one of the most advanced tyre plants in South Asia. The manufacturing withcater to developed markets and high-end automobile makers and will also provide jobopportunities to over 1000 people in the coming years.
Thiru. Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu said that they were delightedwith CEAT and RPG Group’s plan to launch their manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, which isalso India’s largest tyre manufacturing state.
CEAT has five other plants in Mumbai, Nasik, Ambernath, Halol and Nagpur, and is also oneof the first tyre companies to employ women on shop floor and plans which will also be thesame in the Chennai factory.

We aim to positively enhance the ecosystemhere by creating more job opportunities and contribute towards the overall betterment ofthe society and community,” said Mr Anant Goenka, Managing Director, CEAT Tyres Ltd.
CEAT Tyres Ltd. Is also set to invest INR 4,000 Cr. in the next 10 years and will continue tocreate skill development opportunities for the people of Tamil Nadu with facilities such astraining, uniform, canteen and transport. The plant will also aim to improve the livelihood ofthe neighbourhood by ensuring proper sanitation.
