The renowned composer informed his social media followers of the news by posting a photo of his family from the wedding ceremony, which included a painting of his late mother on display near the bride and groom’s eating area.
Khatija Rahman married her audio engineer boyfriend Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, the daughter of Oscar and Grammy-winning composer AR Rahman.
The famed composer shared the news with his social media followers by sharing a family snapshot from the wedding ceremony, which contained a portrait of his late mother near the bride and groom’s seating area.
AR Rahman, his eldest daughter Raheema, his wife Saira Banu, and his son Ameen are in the background. AR Rahman says in the caption, “May the Almighty bless the couple .. thanking you in advance for your good wishes and love @khatija.rahman @riyasdeenriyan #nikkahceremony #marriage.”
On December 29, 2021, Khatija, a singer, proposed to Riyasdeen. Riyasdeen has collaborated with AR Rahman for the latter’s performances, as well as with music composer Amit Trivedi, on various songs for the Kriti Sanon-starrer ‘Mimi,’ including ‘Rock a Bye Baby.’
Since 2017, Riyasdeen has worked on AR Rahman’s live performances and shows, according to his Instagram.
He also worked on the 2017 film ‘Mersal,’ which starred Vijay, Samantha, and Kajal Aggarwal, with his father-in-law.
