The Punjab Kings won by 5 wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sunrisers Hyderabad stand-in skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and elected to bat first against Punjab Kings at Wankhede Stadium. In Hyderabad’s XI, Romario Shepherd and Jagadeesha Suchith have been brought in to replace Kane Williamson and T Natarajan. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Rahul Chahar, and Rishi Dhawan were replaced in Punjab by Shahrukh Khan, Nathan Ellis, and Prerak Mankad.
After being eliminated from the playoff race, Hyderabad and Punjab will clash in a dead rubber to complete their season on a high note. This season, Mayank Agarwal and his colleagues have struggled, especially with the bat. Their postseason hopes have been harmed by their inability to score runs in consecutive games. Capt. Mayank is having a bad season since he hasn’t been able to contribute much as an opener or middle-order batter to his team. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada have been consistent with the ball, but they have suffered because of a lack of support from the batters.
Despite having a terrific pace attack, Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to capitalize on crucial situations this season. With Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Marco Jansen in their fast bowling section, SRH has a lot of options. However, their captain, Kane Williamson, has struggled to help his team with the bat. SRH will be without Williamson in their last match of the season since he has returned to New Zealand to give birth to his first child. It will be fascinating to watch who SRH chooses as their captain for the match.
