The Mammootty-Lijo Jose Pellissery flick Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’s trailer teases a lot of fun.

The odd setup that director Lijo Jose Pellissery and writers S. Hareesh have concocted is hinted at in the Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam teaser. The Mammootty-starring movie explores events in a sleepy community that is rocked by the unexpected reappearance of a dead man.

Mammootty's Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam: When and where to watch the world premiere of Lijo Jose Pellissery film

Thirukkural’s couplet is read at the beginning of the trailer. The couplet compares sleeping and awakening to acts of birth and death. According to the teaser, a theatre group appears to be stuck in a Tamil Nadu village after their bus breaks down. Mammootty’s character, who plays one of the troupe’s key players, wakes up in a new body after taking a mid-morning sleep. He appears to take on the characteristics of someone who just died in the community. Is he paralysed? We are unsure.

The hamlet is taken aback since they are unsure of how to react when a dead guy reanimates in the form of another person. And it appears to encourage a lot of situational humour.

Mammootty not only plays the key part but also provided financial support for Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam. The movie’s international premiere took place during the International Film Festival of Kerala earlier this month. The audience at the festival loved the movie a lot. The viewers of Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam at the festival were quite pleased with Lijo Jose Pellissery’s direction of the movie.
