The debut date for Pushkar-series Gayatri’s ‘Vadhandhi: The Fable of Velonie’ has been set by Prime Video.

Vadhandhi – The Fable of Velonie, a Tamil series produced by Pushkar and Gayatri, will be available for streaming on Prime Video beginning December 2.

Andrew Louis developed, wrote, and directed Vadhandhi, which means rumours. It is also Pushkar and Gayatri’s second project with the OTT platform, following the critically praised Suzhal: The Vortex premiered in June.

The story of Velonie, played by debutante Sanjana, in the upcoming crime thriller is plagued with rumours. A troubled but dedicated cop (S J Suryah) becomes entangled in a web of deceit but is desperate to uncover the truth.

Aparna Purohit, Prime Video’s Head of India Originals, stated that the team is excited to deliver them Vadhandhi, another authentic and diverse story.

“After the phenomenal success of Suzhal: The Vortex, we believe that Vadhandhi, our second collaboration with Pushkar and Gayatri, improves our regional content slate even further.” Andrew Louis skillfully wrote and directed this visceral, evocative, and heartbreakingly beautiful thriller.

“With their powerful and compelling performances, the very brilliant star cast has given life into this drama, which will have spectators on the edge of their seats until the veryend,” Purohit said in a statement posted on Thursday by the streamer.

Pushkar and Gayatri, who are recognised as creative producers on the series under their company Wallwatcher Films, stated that the goal of Vadhandhi is to thoroughly capture the audience’s imagination while also questioning societal preconceptions.

“This story will not only delight but also ponder spectators long after the credits have rolled.” It was a pleasure to work on this riveting crime thriller with writer-director-creator Andrew Louis, with whom we shared a vision.

“Thanks to a very talented star cast led by a veteran like S J Suryah and new talent like debutante Sanjana.” “We are optimistic that Vadhandhi will captivate audiences when it is released internationally in December,” the filmmakers added.

Vadhandhi will be available in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada for Prime members in over 240 countries and territories, in addition to Tamil.

Laila, M Nasser, Vivek Prasanna, Kumaran, and Smruthi Venkat all play important roles in the programme.
