‘Neelam,’ a blue art cart, a part of St+art Chennai 2020 Festival was rolled out to the streets of Kannagi Nagar as a part of a free-to-attend painting workshop.
The walk-in workshop is being conducted at an incomplete construction site with standing columns. With colours, brushes rollers, containers, the art cart names Neelam has become a portable resource for the festival. As soon Neelam made its way into the area, kids followed the cart till the site to start painting the columns.
The St+art Chennai 2020 festival was started by St+art Foundation and Asian Paints, where 10 national artists (5 from Chennai) will involve in creating multiple street art installations in the form of murals, workshops and curated tours in the Kannagi neighborhood of Chennai.
The festival will initiate the city’s first art district (India’s fifth) in Kannagi Nagar. Chennai’s own typographic installation ‘Namma Chennai’ (Our Chennai) is also set to be inaugrated across the Marina beach stretch.
