Satya Nadella receives the Padma Bhushan in the United States and plans to visit India in January.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has stated that receiving the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, is an honour for him and that he looks forward to continuing to work with people across the country to help them use technology to achieve more.

Last week, Nadella received the award for distinguished service from India’s Consul General in San Francisco, TV Nagendra Prasad.

One of the 17 recipients of this year’s awards was Microsoft’s 55-year-old CEO.

Nadella remarked after getting the award, “It’s an honour to earn a Padma Bhushan Award and to be recognised with so many outstanding people. I’m appreciative to India’s President, Prime Minister, and citizens, and I’m looking forward to working with them to leverage technology to further their goals in the future.

During the meeting, Nadella and Prasad discussed the critical role of digital technology in enabling inclusive growth in India. The discussion, according to Microsoft, centred on India’s growth trajectory and the country’s potential to be a global political and technological leader.

After his discussion with Dr. Prasad, Nadella declared, “We are living in a historic time of economic, societal, and technical transformation.

“Digital technology will shape the next ten years.” “Indian businesses and organisations of all sizes are relying on technology to enable them to accomplish more with fewer resources, leading to. greater innovation, agility, and efficiency.” and resilience,” Nadella said.

In February 2014, Nadella, who was born in Hyderabad, was named CEO of Microsoft.

He was also appointed the company’s chairman in June 2021, adding a new position to which he will be responsible for setting the board’s agenda.

One of India’s highest civilian honours, the Padma Awards are presented annually on the eve of Republic Day.

The Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri awards recognise exceptional and distinguished service, respectively (distinguished service).

The award seeks to recognise accomplishments in all activities or disciplines that involve an element of public service.

The Padma Awards are given based on the recommendations of the Padma Awards Committee, which is appointed by the Prime Minister each year.

According to Microsoft, Nadella plans to visit India in January 2023, his first visit in nearly three years.
