Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Yashoda is based on a real crime; makers say
Yashoda, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and directed by Hari and Harish, has been generating a lot of hype since its release. The initial trailer for the film, published in May, was eerie and promised an edge-of-your-seat thriller. A actual criminal incidence has now inspired Yashoda.
In an exclusive interview with us, filmmaker pair Hari and Harish stated that the crime depicted in the film is based on a genuine story. “The plot revolves around a crime that is taking place without the knowledge of anyone in society. The crime we’re showing is based on a true story, but we’ve added a psychological thriller twist to it. It’s about a crime that a typical girl encounters after learning about it. The storyline is revealed by how she reveals it “the creators said
The directors also stated that Samanth shot a few sequences in Hyderabad’s genuine slums. “The slum scenes in the film were shot on location in Hyderabad. We had to take safety precautions with an actor like Samantha, but Sam insisted and said, ‘if this area would suit for the shoot, let’s do it,’ and it was then simple for us to film there “Hari and Harish, the directors, have disclosed their identities.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada, Priyanka Sharma, and others also appear in the film. The film was supposed to be released on August 12, but it has now been pushed back. Yashoda’s new release date will be revealed soon.
