Rajasthan Royals finished second after a five-wicket victory against CSK.
Rajasthan Royals won by five wickets over Chennai Super Kings for their eighth win of the season. Sanju Samson’s club currently has 18 points, and because they have a better net run rate than the Lucknow Super Giants, who have 18 points as well, RR finishes second and will play the Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier. RR needed to score 151 to win, and they did it in 19.4 overs for a five-wicket victory. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 59 runs, while Ravichandran Ashwin maintained his undefeated record with 40 runs.
Moeen Ali smashed a 57-ball 93 to help Chennai Super Kings reach 150 for 6 in 20 overs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. MS Dhoni contributed a 28-ball 26 as part of a 51-run fifth-wicket partnership with Ali. For RR, Yuzvendra Chahal (2/26) and Obed McCoy (2/20) both claimed two wickets.
CSK chose to bat after winning the toss. One of their lineups was modified. Ambati Rayudu takes over for Shivam Dube. Shimron Hetmyer has returned to Rajasthan to take over as James Neesham’s replacement.
