Rakul Preet Singh on Cuttputlli being chastised for its romantic overtones:

Cuttputlli, the Hindi version of the 2018 Tamil crime thriller Ratsanan starring Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh, is now available on Disney Plus Hotstar. Akshay replaced Vishnu Vishal, who portrayed a police officer in the Tamil film, in Ranjit M Tiwari’s directorial. Rakulpreet appears in the Hindi version as the character represented by Amala Paul. The plot centres around a police officer attempting to apprehend a serial murderer who enjoys harassing and killing schoolgirls. Meanwhile, the OTT release is Rakul’s 41st film in her eight-year career, but she still feels like a rookie as she attempts to improve her position in the Hindi cinema business.

Rakul addressed the criticism levelled towards crime movie Cuttputlli for having a love element, saying that it almost spoils the pleasure of a mystery thriller. “There is a specific segment of the public that enjoys it,” the actress explained (romance, song and dance). This film was created for families. The masala is synonymous with Indian cinema. Today, if you say Telugu movie is doing well, you are referring about masala. People want to be entertained. People’s life have been difficult, particularly in the previous two to three years.Families, who account for a sizable proportion of our Indian film audience, like the balance. So, if the tale is gripping and intense, a small respite here and there makes it suitable for a family viewing

Rakul will be featured in Thank God, a film starring Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra. The trailer was released on September 9 by the film’s creators, and within minutes of its release, various social media users praised the trailer and expressed general love for it. Aside from that, Rakul has a slew of projects in the works. She will initially be featured in two Tamil films, S. Shankar’s vigilante action flick Indian 2 and science fiction film Ayalaan, in which he co-stars with Sivakarthikeyan.

She will also appear in three more Bollywood flicks. She will also appear in Anubhuti Kashyap’s Doctor G, in which she will star with Ayushmann Khurrana.
