Rajinikanth greeting his supporters at his place late last night following the release of Ponniyin Selvan’s trailer is doing the rounds on the internet.
Last night, Rajinikanth attended the big trailer premiere event for Mani Ratnam’s epic opus Ponniyin Selvan: I. A video of the singer meeting his supporters waiting outside his house after the event ended late last night has already gone viral on social media. Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, and others from the historical drama also attended the star-studded event.
Speaking about his friendship with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan was cited at the ceremony as stating, “Cinema is a little family, and there is no room or time for jealousy. Rajini and I understood it from the beginning, which is why we’re still here in front of you.” Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have been friends for 40 years and have worked together in 16 films.
During the ceremony, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also stroked Thalaiva’s feet as a sign of respect. The two actors are expected to share screen time in Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial debut, Jailer. Although nothing has been confirmed, if this is true, it will be their second collaboration following the 2010 film Enthiran.
Sun Pictures is financing the production, and while Anirudh Ravichander is on board as the soundtrack composer, Vijay Karthik Kannan is behind the camera. The Jailer is set to hit theatres in the summer of 2023.
The creators’ first look poster shows superstar Rajinikanth in a serious appearance as an authoritarian, donning a white shirt and brown pants with spectacles and sneakers. According to rumours, the majority of the film would be shot on a set built in a Hyderabad film city.
