Raj Kundra’s petition to the Bombay High Court contesting his remand and requesting his release is denied.
Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty’s husband, had no respite on Saturday as the Bombay High Court denied his and Ryan Thorpe’s petition contesting their remand in jail in a pornographic film racket case.” Bombay High Court denies businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty’s Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe’s pleas contesting magistrate court’s remand decision and demanding immediate release,” according to ANI. Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19th and placed in judicial prison in connection with the adult film racket investigation.
According to a report in live legal, Justice AS Gadkari of the Bombay High Court stated in his ruling rejecting Raj Kundra and Ryan’s petition that the remand order was in accordance with the law. The Metropolitan Magistrate’s remand to detention is within the bounds of the law and does not necessitate any interference, he added. Kundra has filed an appeal in the Bombay High Court following his detention and subsequent judicial imprisonment. Raj Kundra’s attorneys allegedly labeled the arrest ‘illegal’ in their court filing.
In addition, Raj Kundra’s bail application, along with Ryan Thorpe’s, is set to be considered in Mumbai Sessions Court on August 10. Since his arrest on July 19, the businessman has been held in judicial custody. Following his detention, Crime Branch officials visited his and Shilpa Shetty’s Juhu house, where Kundra was also detained when his incarceration was prolonged.
Shilpa has avoided social media following Raj Kundra’s imprisonment. The actress, on the other hand, recently broke her silence and issued a statement on her social media profile. Shilpa encouraged everyone to let the law run its course and sought privacy for her family in her message. Shilpa gained support from close celebrity pals following her announcement.
The Mumbai Crime Branch’s property cell has summoned actress Sherlyn Chopra for interrogation in the matter. Back in 2019, Sherlyn stated in a video that she was the first person to speak out against the adult film industry. The actress was questioned by Crime Branch officers on Friday, and following her questioning, she talked to the media. Sherlyn said that she was questioned about her and Raj Kundra’s’sambandh’ and what other companies he owned. “I want justice for all the women and artists who have been victims of this pornography scam, she added.
