Nag Ashwin is the director of Prabhas’ pan-global film. Rescheduled for October.
The second wave of COVID-19 is wreaking havoc around the world, and with new lockdowns and prohibitions in place, a host of film shoots have been pushed back indefinitely. Nag Ashwin’s pan-world film, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, is one of the films influenced by the pandemic.
Nag Ashwin’s next film, which has yet to be called, has been pushed back from July to October due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in the region. The magnum opus, which is being made on a mega-budget of Rs 400 crores, will be set against the backdrop of World War II, and the sci-fi dystopian film will be India’s first pan-world film, i.e. it will be released in English as well as Indian regional languages.
According to a source near to the project, the latest covid wave has taken a toll on both Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s schedules, causing their previous commitments to be postponed. According to the author, even director Nag Ashwin is taking longer than planned to complete pre-production work, and he does not want to rush things just to get the film on the stage. As a result, with all of the aforementioned factors in view, it was agreed to delay the film until October.
Prabhas is currently working on a number of projects. Aside from Nag Ashwin’s pan-global film. He will appear alongside Pooja Hegde in the upcoming romantic drama Radhe Shyam. The trailer for the film was released on Valentine’s Day by the film’s producers. Krishnam Raju’s Gopi Krishna Movies presents the upcoming film, which is co-produced by UV Creations and T-Series. Prabhas will also be seen in Adipurush opposite Kriti Sanon, where he will play Lord Ram, while Kriti will play Sita and Sunny Singh and Saif Ali Khan will play Laxman and Raavan, respectively. Adipurush, a 3D film with one of the largest budgets in the Indian film industry, is in the works.
