MS Dhoni To Face Major Challenge During CSK Vs MI First Phase 2 Match,
Chennai Super Kings’ preparations for the second leg of the forthcoming IPL 2021 season have been in full flow since their arrival in the UAE. The first day of the IPL 2021 UAE phase will feature a blockbuster battle between CSK and MI, but the Men in Yellow may be in trouble because one of their important players is failed to join the squad for the IPL 2021 UAE leg. The report further states that after landing in UAE for IPL 2021 Sam Curran will have to undergo 6 days quarantine as per the norms which will rule him out of the opening fixture. Sam Curran has been a crucial component of the CSK squad owing to his achievements with both bat and ball, and his absence may be detrimental to MS Dhoni’s team at least in the first match.
CSK is also hoping to retain the services of former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis, who recently suffered yet another injury, putting his participation in the competition in jeopardy. Du Plessis sustained a groyne injury prior to the commencement of the St Lucia Kings vs. Barbados Royals encounter, causing him to miss the CPL fixture. The extent of the injuries has yet to be determined. The South African cricketer was instrumental for CSK during the first leg of the IPL 2021, which was hosted in India. In seven matches, the opener scored 320 runs at an average of 64.00. Faf’s highest individual score in IPL 2021 was 95 not out against Kolkata Knight Riders in the season’s 15th match.
CSK and MI have played each other 31 times, with MI winning 19 and CSK winning 12. Out of the 13 seasons, they have won a total of eight IPL titles. Since the IPL’s inception in 2008, both teams have been regarded as the best statistically. MI undoubtedly holds the advantage in terms of victories over CSK, having won five IPL titles under Rohit Sharma’s leadership. CSK, on the other side, has won it three times in a row, in 2010, 2011, and 2018. While MI has won the championship in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.
