MCD Polls: BJP Promises Slum Dwellers Apartments, Slum Schools, 1,000 Permanent Chhath Ghats, and More
In New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party promised pucca dwellings or apartments for all slum residents in its platform, which was unveiled on Friday for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election. Slum dwellers would soon have access to 17,000 flats, according to BJP Delhi unit head Adesh Gupta.
Adesh Gupta stated that MCD-run schools, maternity wards, and dispensaries will be available in the slums.
According to the party’s MCD election manifesto, which Union Minister Piyush Goyal revealed, waste-to-energy conversion will be used to treat 100% of the city’s rubbish in order to create a green, clean, and sustainable Delhi.
The BJP has pledged 1,000 Chhath Ghats and water features that will be permanent in all parks. The manifesto said that six theme parks would be built in and around Delhi.
In addition to free parking and arrangements for treatment through separate windows in hospitals, unique identity cards will be handed to journalists.
Within 100 days, all of Delhi MCD’s services would be accessible online via a smartphone app, according to the manifesto. Better amenities were also promised for corporation employees by the party.
The head of the BJP in Delhi stated that the party wants to do away with industry permits as well as trade and health licences.
In the MCD, which was divided in 2012 into corporations for the north, south, and east until being united this year, the BJP has held office for three consecutive terms.
If the party is re-elected to power in the civic body elections, Gupta stated that the party will implement a straightforward online procedure to award commerce and health licences.
All major markets will have multi-level parking, the BJP promises.

The BJP Delhi unit president promised that the party would also unseal the thousands of properties that had been sealed due to violations of the MPD-2021 (Master Plan for Delhi-2021).

Gupta claimed that the BJP will ensure that the industries in the 30 industrial areas do not require licences in order to increase manufacturing in the city if it gets a majority of the 250 wards in the elections on December 4.
