Indian folk pop and rock band Masala Coffee is ready to set the stage on fire at Forum Vijaya Mall on February 15 th . Groove to their renditions of ‘Munbe vaa,’ improvised renditions of A.R Rahman’s songs and original compositions. Masala Coffee composes music that is a mix of folk, Indian pop and rock.
The band was founded by Varun Sunil in 2014, the lead percussionist of the group and also features Sooraj Santhosh (co-founder) for the vocals. Other members of the band are Daya Sankar (drums), Preeth PS and David Crimson (guitars), Pauly (bass), Joe Johnson (keyboard) and Krishna Raj (violin) The band released its first single video album Aal Aayal Thara Venam, a remake of a song by Kavalam Narayana Panicker, featuring beauty pageant winners.
Masala Coffee entered the film industry with their music debut in 2016, for a Malayalam movie called ‘Hello Namasthe’. They have also composed for a Tamil movie called ‘Uyiradi and were also one of the composers for a movie called ‘Solo,’ directed by Bejoy Nambiar.
