KBC 13: Sehwag Takes Dig At Greg Chappell, Splits Amitabh Bachchan & Ganguly.
Former Indian cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag took the hot seat in the latest trailer of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 13’ on Tuesday. The programme is hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. According to the Sony Entertainment Television ad, the cricketers would be the first celebrity guests on the show’s current episode. The visitors ascended the stage as part of a new segment dubbed ‘Shaandaar Shukravar,’ which will feature a different celebrity each week.
The thirteenth season of KBC is poised to be the most star-studded yet, with celebrity visitors from all walks of life playing and winning once per week. Meanwhile, all rewards won by these celebrities will be donated to a humanitarian cause near and dear to their hearts. As part of this, India’s star opening batsman Virender Sehwag, alias Veeru, will now appear alongside BCCI president and former cricketer Saurav Ganguly. The hilarious duo may be seen on the show with presenter Amitabh Bachchan in the latest teaser. In the commercial, Sehwag was seen mocking Saurav Ganguly for his public feud with former Team India coach Greg Chappell.
Amitabh asked Sehwag what would happen if they were fielding in a cricket match and missed a catch, according to the KBC 13 promo. In response to the circumstance, the astute cricketer stated that if Greg was the coach, the song “Apni to jaise taise kat jayegi” would be ideal. Veeru made a humorous comment on Ganguly and sang, “Aapka kya Hoga janaab-e-ali (But what will you do, sir)?” This was a reference to Greg being dismissed as the team continued to play.
With his choice of music, Sehwag, who is known for his one-liners and witty tweets, made both Amitabh and Ganguly chuckle. Later in the meeting, Amitabh Bachchan asked the cricketers how they felt after beating Pakistan. Continuing his humorous responses, Sehwag referred back to one of Bachchan’s great films, saying that there was a famous phrase from the 1988 film ‘Shahenshah’ that was appropriate for such a circumstance. He said, “Rishte mein toh hum tumhare baap lagte hai (I am your father),” which began the classic conversation, and then added, “Hum toh baap hai hi unke (We truly are their fathers),” which caused both the presenter and Ganguly to burst out laughing. The episode of KBC 13 featuring the two former cricketers will premiere on September 3.
