ISSF World Cup: India’s Nivetha, Esha, and Ruchita Winning Gold in 10m Air Pistol Team Event

Shri Nivetha, Esha Singh, and Ruchita Vinerkar of India won gold in the women’s 10m air pistol team event of the ISSF World Cup here on Wednesday.

The Indians shot 16 in the gold medal round, giving the country its third medal, and second gold, in the year’s inaugural World Cup. India leads the medal count with three medals, two gold, and one silver.

Andrea Katharina Heckner, Sandra Reitz, and Carina Wimmer of Germany took silver after scoring 6 points in the final.

On their journey to the gold medal match, the three Indian ladies won qualification stage 2 with a total score of 574.

Heckner, Reitz, and Wimmer were 571 points behind the Indian ladies. With a total score of 856, Esha, Shri Nivetha, and Ruchita also won qualification stage 1.

Earlier in the day, Olympians Saurabh Chaudhary, Gaurav Rana, and Uchaganve Kedarling Balakrishna were eliminated from the men’s 10m air pistol team competition.

The Indian pistol team finished fourth in the bronze medal match with a total of 6, trailing Italy’s Torracchi Alessio, Monna Paolo, and Tesconi Luca, who totaled 16.

The Indians finished ahead of their Italian counterparts in Qualification Stage 2 with 581 points (577).

The Indians finished first with a total of 765 points.

Prior to that, the Indian team of Rudrankkash Balasaheb Patil, Divyansh Singh Panwar, and Srinjoy Dutta missed out on a bronze medal spot in the men’s 10m air rifle team event by a single point.

The Indian men’s rifle team totaled 624.1 points, just one point fewer than the Czech Republic’s Ales Entrichel, Jiri Privratsky, and Filip Nepejchel’s total score of 624.2.

The Czechs went on to win bronze, beating out Austria.

The Indian team of Shreya Agarwal, Ayushi Gupta, and Rajshree Sancheti finished seventh in the qualification stage 2 of the women’s 10m air rifle team event with a total score of 625.0.
