After winning the toss, MI captain Rohit Sharma chose to bowl first. KKR starter Venkatesh Iyer (43 off 24) got the squad off to a blazing start.
Nitish Rana, who has pushed up the order, continued the trend by scoring 43 off 26 balls. MI made a comeback thanks to a furious session from Japsprit Bumrah, who restricted KKR to 165 runs. The match ended with Jasprit Bumrah scoring 5/10. MI got off to the worst possible start in their chase for 166 runs, with Rohit Sharma retiring early. Ishan Kishan hit his third half-century of the season (51 off 43), but the KKR spinners kept picking up wickets at regular intervals, dismissing all of Mumbai’s batsmen for 113 runs.
