In theatres on April 28 of next year is Ponniyin Selvan 2? What We Do Know
The masterpiece of director Mani Ratnam Poonnin Selvan I had a huge box office success. As it earned over Rs 500 crore at the box office and became the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2022, the film smashed numerous box office records. In addition, it went on to become the fifteenth-highest grossing Indian movie and the fourth-highest grossing Tamil movie of all time.
It was revealed shortly after the movie’s nationwide premiere in India that its sequel would hit theatres in the summer of 2023. Now, Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be launched on April 28 of next year, according to information provided by Udhayanidhi Stalin at a recent function. The producers have yet to make an official announcement on the release date.
On Twitter earlier today, Lyca Productions posted a trailer for Ponniyin Selvan 2. The production company also stated that tonight at 4 PM, a “exciting news” regarding the movie will be made. “Open the gates as we march with pride to #PS2. I’ll be making a big announcement at 4 PM today.” Observe the tweet.
Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Trisha will play the key characters in the second Ponniyin Selvan instalment. The future movie’s plot will continue the story of the first movie, which ended abruptly.

A historical action-adventure film series called Ponniyin Selvan is based on the 1995 book of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The first episode of the two-part series focused on the early years of Chola prince Arulmozhi Varman, who later rose to prominence and ruled from 974 to 1014.
The movie’s two halves were shot in different cities all over India. A few scenes were also filmed in Thailand. The films’ cinematography was done by A Sreekar Prasad, and its editing was done by Thota Tharani. AR Rahman composed the soundtrack for the movies.
