In 1.1 lakh cybercrime cases, the government says it has saved 188 billion rupees.

The CFCFRMS was launched in April 2022 as a national helpline to report financial crimes and stop thieves from taking money.

According to state minister of home affairs Ajay Mishra Teni, in 1.1 lakh incidents reported through the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS), over 188 crore had been rescued.

In a written response to BJP MPs Tejasvi Surya and Pratap Simha, Teni stated: “Since the inception of Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System, more than 6 lakh complaints have been registered until December 12, 2022, and in more than 1.11 lakh complaints so far, the financial amount of more than Rs188 crore have been saved.”

As a national hotline to detect financial crimes and stop thieves from stealing money, CFCFRMS went into operation in April 2022. For online cyber concerns, call the service at the toll-free Helpline number “1930.” The previous national cyber fraud helpline, 155260, which went live in April 2021, was superseded by CFCFRMS.

By taking swift action to track down the money trail and halt its further flow before it is removed from the digital ecosystem by the fraudster, the CFCFRMS helpline aims to reduce losses in cases of online cheating.

Teni added that the Center is modernising state police forces and that 2,971.51 crore has been granted to the states for the purchase of training aids, cyber policing tools, weaponry, and cutting-edge communication and forensic tools.

The minister continued by saying that the government has also started a programme called the National Cybercrime Training Center (CyTrain) to build the skills of police and judicial officers through online courses on vital topics like forensics and prosecution in cybercrime investigation that lead to certification.

More than 27,900 police officers from States and UTs are enrolled, and the portal has also granted more than 7,300 certificates, Teni continued.
