Gautham Menon claims to being a member of Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Thalapathy 67 band.
Vijay and Gautham Vasudev Menon were meant to collaborate on a film called Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru. The film never came to fruition, and the long-awaited collaboration never took place. However, with Thalapathy 67, the two are finally working together, however Gautham will not be directing Vijay and will instead share screen space.
Gautham Menon confirmed his membership in Thalapathy 67 during a recent Galatta Plus discussion. Lokesh Kanagaraj also participated in the conversation. When Gautham was asked if he was in any of the roundtable members’ films, the filmmaker stated that he is in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next.
“I am in his film,” Gautham added, pointing to Lokesh. I just saw him, and because he given me the go-ahead to reveal this, I’m confirming it here right now.” The film in question is undoubtedly Thalapathy 67, Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second collaboration.
The Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe may also include Thalapathy 67. (which has Kaithi and Vikram). Lokesh, on the other hand, has been tight-lipped about it.
Thalapathy 67 will begin production once Varisu, Vijay’s forthcoming film, is released in the Pongal week of 2023. The movie’s official announcement is due by the end of January.
Meanwhile, Gautham Menon is working on the second instalment of his gangster thriller Vendhu Thaninthathu Kaadu, which stars Simbu. He also has two unpublished films, Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha and Dhruva Natchathiram, the release dates for which are unclear. He has also appeared in films such as Michael, Anuragam, and 13.
