The first rafale jet handed to INDIAN AIR FORCE on October. When Rajnath Singh, Defence minister of India visited france last year he made a contract and brought them.
We have 36 Rafale jets and 30 will be the fighter jets and the remaining 6 jets will be the trainer jets.
The defence minister of India, Rajnath Singh and his French counterpart Florence party was the chief guest of the Event. The ceremony took place at Ambala, Haryana. Indian Air Force 17 squadron called as Golden arrows. India’s first five Rafale fighters are also called as Golden arrows squadron.
India and France have signed a deal for 36 fighter jets on September 2016. The largest defence deal signed by India at 60,000 Crores.
