Fans of the 1980s enjoy the desi-themed Baap first look, starring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, and Mithun Chakraborty as the Expendables.
In the first image from their film Baap, Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Sunny Deol, and Jackie Shroff turned back the hands of time to showcase their distinctive on-screen appearances from the 1980s and 1990s.
It feels like the 1990s are coming back. At least, that’s how it appears in the first image from the upcoming action movie Baap. Several of the biggest action actors from the 1980s and 1990s, including Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, and Mithun Chakraborty, appear in the movie. The stars revealed the movie’s first look on Wednesday, showing off their tough gangster personas. And the majority of fans supported it.
Jackie Shroff captioned the image she posted on Twitter and Instagram, “Shoot dhamaal, dosti (friendship) bemisaal.” The photograph displays the four actors seated on astairway while addressing the camera. Jackie is dressed in his trademark military camouflage jacket, undershirt, and headband, evoking his youthful appearance. Sanjay Dutt also resembles his appearances from several of the early 2000s movies with a leather jacket, goatee, and hairdo.
Sunny Deol has long hair, a beard, and a bandana, and she is dressed in khaki overalls that resemble an American prison uniform. Many admirers thought the appearance resembled the ones he wore in memorable 90s movies like Jeet. Mithun Chakraborty also wore his once-famous slanted army headgear, accessorising it with a leather jacket and jeans.
Fans praised the performers’ timeless appearances and the sight of the quartet as a whole. “This is the baap of all first looks,” one person wrote. “I am digging the overall 80s action star vibes with this poster,” another remarked. Many fans compared them to the Expendables, a Hollywood film series that also included a number of seasoned action performers, including Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Sylvester Stallone.
On Mithun Chakraborty’s 72nd birthday in June of this year, Baap was announced. Vivek Chauhan is helming the action movie. A month was apparently allotted for the film crew to complete their marathon schedule of numerous places shooting. It was rumoured that they were also filming a section of the movie in a Mumbai studio.
