Dhanush Takes On The Role Of An Investigative Journalist In ‘Maaran’ Trailer

After a long wait, the makers of the action thriller film Maaran have released the first trailer, starring Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan. Karthick Naren wrote and directed the film, which will bypass a theatrical distribution in favour of a direct launch on the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar.

Dhanush’s earlier film, Atrangi Re, was also distributed on the same streaming portal and earned positive reviews. Maaran is an action thriller set against the backdrop of journalism and how politics affects the profession.

Dhanush will play a journalist who strives to provide readers with accurate information. Because of his righteousness, he gets into difficulty with a strong politician who threatens him and his family. Throughout the voyage, Dhanush’s character may have some romantic moments with Malavika Mohanan’s character, who also works at the same news agency as him. The trailer is also replete with high-octane action moments in which that character can be seen taking down assailants on his own.

In addition to Dhanush and Malavika, Samuthirakani, Krishnakumar, and Mahendran will play important parts in the film. The actor will also perform the film’s opening song. The news was conveyed by GV Prakash Kumar, who would compose the film’s music score. Kumar took to Twitter to reveal that he would not only be appearing in the film but would also be contributing his voice to the opening music.

Maaran will be available in four languages on Disney+ Hotstar on March 11th: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
