CICLO CAFÉ BRINGS CYCLING AND RECYCLING TOGETHER WITH NEW STEPS TO PROMOTE ECO-CONSCIOUSNESS, INTRODUCES NEW SALAD BAR
Since opening in 2015, Ciclo Café has made a mark as India’s first bicycling-inspired café, and is known for a holistic, wellness-centric approach which is reflected in the menus, ambience and kitchen practices. It offers a fine selection of delicious cuisines from all over the world, tailored to appeal to families as well as to fitness enthusiasts, in a relaxing and charming environment. As a hub for all things cycling-related, Ciclo Cafe is the ideal place to check out the latest bicycle merchandise and accessories, get expert advice and connect with the community at large.
Ciclo Café was recently presented with the title of “Namma Green Café” by the Namma Ooru Foundation, in honour of its active participation in reducing wastage and increasing environmental consciousness. Some of the café’s best practices include: compositing food waste into plant fertiliser, reducing plastic usage through using sugarcane stirrers, refusing to use plastic bin liners, cloth bandanas for the staff, and innovative upcycling measures.
Speaking on these practices, co-founder Ashish Thadani says, “Making a commitment to the environment is something that comes very naturally to many cyclists, who simultaneously understand the need for good health and the need to cut down on toxic fuel emissions that other vehicles produce. We hope to inspire a movement towards eco-consciousness in the lives of all our patrons, through letting them see first-hand the importance and easiness of going green.”
Ciclo Café has also expanded its menu, with a new salad bar that lets patrons customise their salads. It features an eclectic selection of premium vegetables, grains, cheeses, meats, fruits, toppings and dressings to suit a wide variety of tastes.
Ciclo Café is one of the flagship F&B offerings in Chennai by Absolute; the other being the popular lounge bar, The Velveteen Rabbit. Absolute has also collaborated with Aki Bay, Chennai’s first authentic Japanese ramen restaurant.
