Varisu, the most recent film by actor Vijay, has dominated the box office since its debut. The Vamshi Paidipally-directed movie made 210 crore in its first week of international release. The youngest son in the family drama Varisu, starring Vijay, faces severe opposition from his two older siblings as he attempts to take over his father’s business empire.Along with other actors, it features Rashmika Mandanna, R. Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj, and Srikanth.
The Telugu version of the Vamshi Paidipally-directed movie served as Vijay’s Telugu acting debut, as it was released alongside the Tamil original. Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil, Master, and Beast are the other 200 crore-grossing movies that Vijay has produced besides Varisu.
Ajith’s Thunivu was released concurrently with Varisu. Last Wednesday, both movies were shown on an equal number of screens in Tamil Nadu. Since screenings for both movies started as early as one in the morning, fans stayed up all night to celebrate their release.
Vamshi Paidipally, the director of Varisu, stirred considerable controversy on social media on Tuesday with his response to negative reviews of his movie. It started when some individuals said that Varisu suffers from a severe “TV serial hangover.” In response to the criticism, Vamshi pleaded with the critics to be aware of and cognizant of the labor-intensive nature of filmmaking. Many individuals on social media also strongly disagreed with his reaction.

You are aware of how difficult it is to produce a movie today? Do you have any idea how hard a team is working right now to develop a movie? You you aware of the effort people make to amuse audiences? It’s not a joke, brother. Every filmmaker makes a tonne of sacrifices, Vamshi told Cinema Vikatan.
He also discussed the effort actor Vijay makes to practise his dancing moves and lines of dialogue. Vamshi responded to the criticism about Varisu by saying that since so many people watch TV serials at home, people shouldn’t disparage them. Vamshi’s remark elicited heated responses from a number of people. Some people thought he was downright unpleasant.
