Aparna Balamurali believes that ‘Soorarai Pottru may have been a game changer if’; Talks about Veetla Vishesham!
Aparna Balamurali wowed the audience in Soorarai Pottru as Bommi, the wife of Nedumaaran Rajangam (played by Suriya). She went to great lengths to get inside the skin of the Madurai girl in Sudha Kongara’s popular film. Aparna believes Soorarai Pottru assisted her in unlearning many things, which will benefit her in the future.
“The most challenging element of Soorarai Pottru was unlearning some things. Everything was fresh and unusual in terms of technicality during my first film. It seemed as though a child had been abandoned at kindergarten. Between doing Malayalam and Tamil films, I’ve gone a long way. What I learned in Soorarai Pottru would also benefit me in the future “Aparna Balamurali remembered her experience working on Suriya’s film.
If the COVID-19 epidemic had not occurred, the Maheshinte Prathikaaram actor, who is now open to filming Telugu films, believes Soorarai Pottru might have been a game-changer film for her in terms of exposure and meeting people physically.
“I could have gotten more exposure. I believe I met a lot of individuals in person, but everything was virtual at the time because of covid. If we hadn’t had the Corona phase, it may have been a game-changer. But I’m pleased that, even after the OTT release, it received a lot of attention. I’m looking on the bright side of things “Aparna Balamurali spoke about Soorarai Pottru, which would be launched in 2020.
Veetla Vishesham, a Tamil version of the Hindi hit Badhaai Ho, follows. RJ Balaji will reprise Ayushmann Khurranna’s role in the much-anticipated film, which will be released on June 17. Aparna Balamurali replaces Sanya Malhotra in the original.
When asked if she viewed the original before preparing for her performance in Veetla Vishesham, Aparna said, “What I wanted to accomplish here was not mimic anyone or anything that is already there or make it appear like what she has done” (Sanya Malhotra). She did an excellent job in the film, and it is hers, but I wanted to do something unique. The circumstances, in particular, differ drastically depending on the preferences of the South Indian audience.I wanted our fans to identify more with my character, so I purposefully didn’t give Sanya much screen time, but certain key sequences in the film that she had, I watched and wanted to see how she executed them. I wanted to use very little references, but I worked hard not to replicate what she accomplished. Balaji’s script is nicely written, catering to the Tamil audience and what they would like. “As a result, the characters alter as well.”
In her sweet, modest voice, the actress shared her experience working with veteran actors Sathyaraj and Urvashi “Working with older actors like Sathyaraj sir and Urvashi ma’am, in addition to myself and Balaji, was a wonderful experience. We did a shoot with the complete cast one day, and it was a dream come true for any artist to be there. It was entertaining to see them act out those wicked scenarios onscreen. It is, in fact, their film. On set, they were like teenagers, and their exuberance was contagious. That was the most significant blessing.”
Aparna Balamurali is a confident actor who believes that nothing except the force of character matters. “Character is important to me. Of course, depending on the screenplay, you will desire screen time or you will feel that there is nothing much to do in it, but certain roles, such as my character in Veetla Vishesham, have a significant function to play in a man’s life. So that matters to me, and it will reach the public. Character strength is important to me.”
“For me, success is defined by what I have learned and whether or not I am content with the role I perform. I had a number of courses and classes at Soorarai Pottru that benefitted me individually. It has changed the way I act for even a small scene. There is a noticeable difference now “Aparna has gone a long way without the help of a Godfather in the industry, she adds.
