Aishwarya Rai thanks Rajinikanth and hugs Mani Ratnam at the Ponniyin Selvan trailer premiere.

Rajinikanth was the star of the song and trailer premiere event for Mani Ratnam’s forthcoming film Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 on Tuesday in Chennai. He was the event’s principal guest, along with Kamal Haasan and the whole cast of the film, including Aishwarya Rai. In joy at finally reconnecting with her 2.0 co-star, Aishwarya patted Rajinikanth’s feet.

Aishwarya Rai was clad in a black kurta salwar and dupatta as she ran from the first row to welcome Ponniyin Selvan director Mani Ratnam. He patted her back after she hugged him. Mani Ratnam made Aishwarya’s big screen debut in 1997 with the film Iruvar. Later, they worked together on the films Raavan and Guru.

When Aishwarya and Rajinikanth first met, she caressed his feet, and he pulled her in for a bear embrace. They exchanged a lengthy namaste and had a little moment. Aishwarya and Rajinikanth collaborated in the 2010 film Enthiran and its 2018 sequel, 2.0.d Guru.
