Actor Maran of ‘Gilli’ fame dies in a government hospital from COVID-19.
Maran, a Tamil film industry actor who appeared in many films, died in the early hours of Wednesday, May 12. He was diagnosed with a COVID-19 infection a few days ago and is from the Chengalpattu Natham district, Later, he was admitted to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for treatment. However, the 48-year-old actor died without being treated.
Maran has been hospitalized for the last two days. On the technical level, the actor co-starred with Vijay in the 2004 film Gilli and the 2008 film Kuruvi. Ramesh Bala reported the news in a tweet, writing that Maran was an actor, stage playwright, and stunt artist who appeared in a number of films. Throughout his career, he has played both comedic and villain roles.
Amid an increase in COVID-19 cases, the Tamil Nadu government declared a two-week lockdown beginning May 10 to contain the virus’s spread, according to news agency ANI. Only those with vital jobs were seen on the road after the lockout curbs were lifted. Furthermore, police officers reviewed multiple points to ensure that no one was left without important work.
