The Tale Behind The New Menu

Continuing their endeavour to bring world food to Chennai, Pumpkin Tales on Thursday announced the release of their brand new menu.

The new menu brings some of the latest world food trends to Chennai, such as smoothie bowls, poke bowls and flavours such as harissa and umami, while staying true to their signature Slow Food philosophy.

When asked about the inspiration behind this new menu, Creative Chef Chindi Varadarajulu says ‘The idea is, and has always been to bring to Chennai healthful, tasty food with new and interesting flavours and textures, as well as old comfort foods that remain true to tradition, but presented in new and exciting ways.’

Pumpkin Tales continues to bring us traditional comfort food with a unique touch, like the Gnocchi, perfected by Chef Chindi when she was in Italy earlier this year, elevated with the soft flavour of crab, and the Chicken Larb – a traditional recipe all the way from Laos, served with Pumpkin Tales’ signature oven baked crostinis to add the complementary texture. While the menu continues to have loads of comfort food that embrace innovative food trends, such as the Malay red curry or the buckwheat pancakes, there are also some first-time in Chennai dishes that are taking the world by storm – poke bowls, smoothie bowls, Dan Dan noodles and unique flavours such as umami and harissa.

In all, this new menu is innovative & unique, with all of the dishes being made from scratch. And although various global food trends have contributed to it, each dish is still prepared in the most sustainable way, using as much of the local ingredients as possible.
