Goan Food Fiesta at Buzz, The Gateway Hotel IT Expressway Chennai
Buzz, the all-day diner at The Gateway Hotel IT Expressway Chennai, brings a mélange of colours and flavours of authentic Goan cuisine right in your city! Curating this special menu is Chef Anthony D’souza from Vivanta by Taj-Panaji Goa who together with Jaffar Ali, Executive Chef of The Gateway Hotel IT Expressway Chennai, have whipped up a delectable spread of authentic Goan coastal fare.
Chef Anthony has been delighting guests at Vivanta by Taj-Panaji Goa for the last eight years with his delicious dishes straight from his ancestral recipe pool and some of those dishes dot the menu here at Buzz.
The delightful Kismoor (Dried prawns preparation with onion, coconut and coriander); Rawa fried prawns (Semolina crusted fried local sea prawns); Tenderloin chops (Minced Tenderloin croquettes spiced with Goan flavours and coated with semolina, deep fried); and the Bangdeche dangar (Minced mackerel cutlet coated with semolina and deep fried) are just what you need before the delicious main-course! Go for Pork sorpotel with sannas, a delicacy of Goan Christians, made from diced pork cooked in thick red gravy; Galinha cafreal (Grilled chicken marinated in a fiery combination of pepper and green spice); Mandkyo chilli fry (Roundels of squids marinated with spices and stir fried with chilli flakes, capsicum, onion and tomato); and Crab xec xec (Whole crabs cooked in thick roasted spices and coconut gravy).
Be sure to try Chef’s specials – Chicken xacuti, a Goan specialty that’s a complex combination of 18 spices roasted individually and ground together; and the authentic Goan prawn curry made with fresh grated coconut, blended spices and flavoursome kokum – Sungta hooman.
Round off the meal with the traditional Bebinca (Traditional layered baked cake, flavoured with nutmeg).
