The team completed the journey from Peru to Pisco on the first day
Rankings at the end of 1st stage – Michael 12th, Adrien 24th, Lorenzo 25th and Aravind 70th
Sherco TVS Rally Factory team successfully completed the first stage at Dakar 2019 from Peru to Pisco on Monday. This includes 247 km of racing and 84 km special. The special stage was quite challenging and a beautiful appetizer for our racers. Michael Metge managed a good finish at the 12th position at the end of the first stage while Adrien, Lorenzo and Aravind finished the stage at 24th, 25th and 70th positions respectively.
The race becomes intense on Tuesday as the team rides from Pisco to San Juan de Marcona after riding 342 km of special in stage 2.
Michael Metge said, “A difficult first stage, it took a bit of time to adapt to the bike, but little by little I felt better and better and I have confidence for the future!”
Adrien Metge said, “I am very happy with the bike, it is working well, I managed to catch up with the riders in front of me, this race is long!”
Lorenzo Santolino said, “The prologue went off well, I’m getting to know the Dakar. Second stage is a challenging one, we’ll know more about what we’re facing, but I feel good.”
Aravind KP said, “It was difficult to read the course on the first part of the stage! But I felt much better on the second part. A good day for me and I hope to learn and improve every day all the way to the finish line. “
