Hosted an exclusive inter- corporate badminton tournament for women employees
128 women participated from diversified fields such as IT, Finance, Auto, Retail across corporates
Women employees of Tamil Nadu police and armed forces took part in the tournament
Esteemed organizations such as TCS, Infosys, Amazon and 24 other corporates actively participated in the tournament
Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector bank organized an Inter- Corporate Badminton Tournament in Chennai, on eve of the International Women’s Day. This year, around 128 women from 27 diversified corporate companies participated in the badminton tournament. Akshaya N and Krishba Lahari D (from TCS) won the competition while Sharanya KS and Deboshruti Biswas (from TCS) were the 1st runner up.
The winners will be felicitated and awarded with trophies, while other participants will be presented with participant certificates on 8th March – International Women's Day.
Women from eminent corporates like Amazon, TCS, HCL, Infosys as well as the Tamil Nadu police took part in the Axis Bank organized doubles Badminton tournament, held at The Olympiad, Thoraipakkam, Chennai.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Ravi Narayanan, President Branch Banking, Axis Bank said, “With each passing year, the number of participants has increased. It is overwhelming to see how more and more women are taking interest in sports and are passionate about it. Over the years, the Inter-corporate Badminton Tournament has become a much awaited event and it is heartening to see that women from diversified corporates are actively participating in it.’’
Axis Bank initiated the flagship Badminton tournament in 2017, which witnessed 48 women participants and thereafter, 64 participants in 2018. TCS and Infosys have emerged as the winners in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
